Waterside Action Group - NO Puppy Farms!

W.A.G. Day 2006

Rain in the morning may have put some people off but not the doggie people! It brightened into the afternoon, staying dry until most of the companion dog show (139 dogs present) had been judged. There was again a great interest in micro chipping with 70 dogs chipped successfully. Trade at the car boot sale was brisk with more cars than last year. The kids appeared to enjoy the fun fair and all present defiantly enjoyed the catering.

We hope the car booters and the various stalls were well supported and we thank them for adding to the fun of the day.

Due to the hard work put in by both members and friends of the group W.A.G. is now in the position to concentrate on the fight against all puppy farms for the year ahead.

Our special thanks go to:

  • Pat and her hard working catering team

  • Dogs Trust for affordable micro chipping

  • Rory for opening the event and of course all who attended on the day

  • We very gratefully received donations direct to W.A.G. from - Bulldog Club of Scotland, Kilmarnock & District CC, Shetland Sheepdog Club of Scotland and Kirk Dog Training Club

  • Catrine Canine Club also wish us to thank the various dog related organisations who so generously answered their call for sponsorship namely - Land O 'Burns C.C., Dogs R Us (Newmilns), Gibbs of Galston, Scottish Terrier Club of Scotland, Irvine Valley DTS, Loudoun Castle Park, Mr & Mrs B Thomson, Burnbank Training Club, Victoria Rosettes, Ms Sheila Wallace, James Wellbeloved, Glenauld Kennels, Sommerville Animal Feeds, Pet Shop Cumnock, Full Moon Studio with a special thanks to Pedigree Pet Foods for their outstanding donation of produce. All dog food, dog toys etc. where given as prizes on the day and all sponsor money received with all income from the companion dog show has been gifted to W.A.G. Catrine bearing all other expenses.

We at W.A.G. have again been greatly encouraged by both the interest and generosity displayed by all involved in this event and is more than ever determined to stamp out this vile trade on innocent animals.
